Support Stories A top-secret surprise for Canadian troops during the holidays Over the holidays, General Jonathan Vance, Chief of the Defence Staff, along with the Governor General Julie Payette, made a surprise trip to Kuwait to visit our deployed troops. With the help of METRO, they were able to provide each member with a holiday package full of various treats and well wishes from home. Tokens of appreciation such as these play an integral role in lifting the spirits of our deployed members during these difficult times away from home. They also provide our military with the comfort of knowing that the nation recognizes their dedication and sacrifice.
