Royal Military College women’s soccer team takes huge strides in raising awareness of mental health
From March 20 to 28th, the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) women’s soccer team raised awareness for mental health and funds for Soldier On. For every $5 donated to their cause, a member of the team ran/rucked/or marched 1 km, up to 500km.
“Soldier On supports the recovery of ill and injured CAF members and veterans through sport, recreational and creative activities. By raising money for this organization, we help them continue to keep this program a priority,” says Officer Cadet Gesse-Lea Roberts, a member of RMC women’s soccer team. “It provides ill and injured CAF members and veterans with a kind of support that can be easily overlooked but is invaluable, especially during this challenging time."
Thanks to their hard work and dedication, these young women surpassed their fundraising goal! Over $2,500 was raised for Soldier On, which works to help ill and/or injured members adapt, overcome and soldier on. Bravo Zulu, team!
