Reminding our troops that Canadians care

Much of my life has revolved around the military. Through my own experiences, I have learned that military families are always starting over.

My parents were both serving members, and I grew up shuffling between postings. I joined the forces into adulthood and later married a soldier. Through my own experiences, I have learned that military families are always starting over.

New postings every few years require serving women and men to uproot their lives and begin anew, often far from their support networks. In addition, long absences from home through deployments and trainings, coupled with the dangers of the position, continue to complicate home life for many members.

My team and I work to ease these difficult transitions. Working directly within the Defence community and in partnership with our members, we can immediately respond to emergencies and offset service-related stresses. We are here to support the extraordinary Canadians who have put themselves in harm’s way to protect our way of life.

Our military community is resilient, but sometimes even those with the strongest resiliency struggle. Standing alongside them during difficult times reminds them that Canadian care and are grateful for their sacrifice.
